As a kid, I had a game called Tangram. It was essentially a collection of shapes which you had to arrange in order to match a card with a silhouetted image on it. The reverse of the card would show you how the shapes were pieced together to create it, but the challenge obviously was to complete the image without looking at the reverse.
For this series, my supervisor gave me the idea to use a similar kind of style, and create my mythical creatures using only a select few shapes in an appropriate arrangement.
